Reviews for Master Class with Steve Morse

I would go as far as saying this video has been the most influential
web lesson on me that I can think of: it really changed what I was doing,
and it is crammed with interesting valuable points.

- This guy is a guitar hero
- This guy decided that he would be able to play every note
by picking it, whereever it was
- This guy decided to learn to read on the guitar
- This guy studies classical music
- "Notes that aren't accurate don't count. When you're practicing, it needs to
be perfect"
- "I thought it would be better to be able to pick every note, and to be
able to do it to the extent where I didn't have to think about it"

I even loved his comment on making a mistake at a gig "you gave it your best shot, that's OK, it was a moment in history, it's gone"

Steve Morse explains why he has taken the time to learn how to pick really really fast.

I can understand that wanting to play Yngwie-style bach arpeggios on the guitar needs a lot of practice of the kinds he recommends, and the comment about making sure the practice is careful is a good point.

Having said that, I'm not sure he is telling you anything you didn't already know. Perhaps he is mainly showing where that kind of practice can lead to if followed diligently.
